Kurt Wild Named 2026 CRIT Awards Finalist for Best Game Master | Darrington Press

Vote for Tales by Daggerlight GM Kurt Wild in the 2026 CRIT Awards Best Game Master | Darrington Press category. Voting closes August 23, with winners announced September 26.

Our own Kurt Wild is a finalist for Best Game Master | Darrington Press in the 2026 community-voted CRIT Awards. Voting closes August 23. Here’s how to back him.

Kurt Wild, the lead Game Master for Tales by Daggerlight, has been named a finalist for Best Game Master | Darrington Press in this year’s CRIT Awards.

The category recognizes Game Masters who have run a Darrington Press actual play series or one-shot, including games like Daggerheart and Candela Obscura, judged on their creativity, inclusivity, narrative and mechanical skill, and overall performance.

If you’ve ever played at one of Kurt’s tables, listened to an episode, or watched him talk an NPC into existence on the fly, you already know why he belongs there.

He’s been running games for this community since the very first campaign, and he keeps showing up every other Friday, season after season, ready for every ridiculous plan his players throw at him.

The winner is chosen through community voting, which means this one really is in our hands. Voting stays open through August 23, and it only takes a minute. You can skip any other categories you don’t have an opinion on.

If Kurt has ever made you laugh, gasp out loud, or stay at the table an hour longer than you planned, now’s the moment to say so.

How to vote

Open the official CRIT Awards ballot, find Best Game Master | Darrington Press, and cast your vote for Kurt Wild for Tales by Daggerlight.

Voting closes August 23.

When are the 2026 CRIT Awards winners announced?

The winners will be revealed during the 2026 CRIT Awards ceremony on Saturday, September 26. The organizers currently list the ceremony for 7:00 p.m. MST as part of FanX Salt Lake at the Salt Palace Convention Center.

A version of the ceremony will also be livestreamed. The CRIT Awards hasn’t published a dedicated viewing link yet, so check its official channels closer to the event for final details.

One more thing: Kurt isn’t the only familiar face on this year’s ballot. Several friends and fellow creators from the Mimic Society community are finalists too, including Queen of Daggers, Heart of Fire, the DodoBorne crew, and Meaches. Take a look through the other categories and show them some love while you’re there.
